October Update – A Shot In the Dark

Well it’s been a hell of a time!!!!  Lot’s of great developments in the last month, but let’s start with the most obvious one.  The Kickstarter campaign has now closed with over 90 copies of A Shot in The Dark ordered!!!!  A huge thank you to everyone who has supported this project.  For everyone who made a pledge, you should have received an email to obtain your address so that I can post your book to you.  Even if you are intending to pick up your book in person, fill out the email survey just in case.

You can still order a copy of A Shot In The Dark

front coverEven though the Kickstarter Campaign is now closed, I’ve had a bunch of people contact me asking how they can order a copy of the book.  With this in mind I’ve opened up an online shop where people can order a copy (along with some other sweet stuff like limited edition prints and postcards).  While the initial crowdfunding campaign was limited to Australia, people overseas can now order the book online.

Progress on the book

The single most labour intensive part of the book, selecting the photographs, tracking down the original files and editing them to be suitable for print is now complete.  The result is a collection of around 400 photographs.  This will probably be pruned down a little bit further as I move into layout.  A good chunk of the first draft writing has been completed too.  I’ll release few sneak peeks of the layout in the next week or so.

Let’s party!!!

One of the major themes of the book is “Live, Loud and Local”, and thanks to Knoodle Promotions and Bombay Rock, the launch show for the book promises to be all three.  Featuring a host of great Australian bands in an iconic venue, the December 1st launch party is going to be a ripsnorter!!!

Bands announced so far include:

Topnovil (NSW)
The Bob Gordons (WA)
I am Duckeye
Strawberry Fist Cake
Australian Kingswood Factory
Udder Ubductees
K-MaRt WaRRioRs
Beyond Contempt,
The Fckups,
The Out Of Towners
Ferocious Chode
Joe Guiton

As if that wasn’t enough there will also be a small number of copies of the book for sale along with a raffle for a framed A4 sized print of Mootisha, the very same image that graces the cover the book.  The print is No.1 of 50 limited edition, signed and numbered prints.  Currently selling for $100 online, it’s almost guaranteed to be worth $102 after I die).

I will also have all the books pre-ordered via the Kickstarter campaign at the merch stall.  Pick your book up in person and I’ll refund your shipping costs!!!
